Day at the Beach

I started this group in 2014. Like several of my previous landscapes, these are an exercise in moving the horizon to some expressionistic end. The figures carry a weight, both emotional and visually, in contrast to their anonymity and scale. Another jumping off point for these paintings is Chinese painting from the Sung Dynasty.
