"Ellwood Derricks, whose work caught my eye at concurrent juried shows at the Lancaster and Harrisburg art shows, has a mysterious piece titled "Lotus Eaters" in this exhibit. Architectural elements in shades of burnt umber and grayed ceruelan have a cine colle newspaper image of heavenly angels next to an open door with an ominous and darkened interior. In script across the bottom it reads, "I am waiting by your door." Approach with trepidation, something seems out of place."
